Eco Clubs are a great way to make your school a better place to live in. They help students form friendships and give them the tools they need to make an impact on their local community.
The most impressive part of an Eco Club is the impact it has on the local environment. From cleaning up a park to collecting non-biodegradable waste, these groups of dedicated students are working towards making a difference.
The eco club has organized various activities to celebrate World Environment Day. It has also worked hard to win a coveted ECO flag award. A student-led interactive assembly was held on the 20th of December.
Using plants to slow the carbon cycle, the eco-club also made an effort to clean up a local park. It was also responsible for pulling huge weeds and sweeping up the puddles that were forming on the pathways.
The eco-club also took part in a contest to find the ‘best energy saving slogan.’ Their winning entries were mounted around the school.
Another laudable initiative was the poster-making competition. These entrants were given 10 extra minutes of playtime to reward their efforts. Having a rhyming slogan is easier to remember, and also gets your name and class’s logo into the public sphere.
While the Eco Club was cleaning up the park, they were also learning the intricacies of a properly managed schoolyard. In addition, they collected non-biodegradable waste, pulled a lot of litter, and cleaned the back garden.
