Yosemite

We were watching a National Geographic show on Yosemite the other night and it brought back a lot of memories of our time living in California. We loved going there and seeing all of the natural wonders!                                    Like this

                                    And this!

But we saw something we weren’t expecting.

Look closely. Do you see it?

I would not want to be up there climbing that amazing rock!

I posted about this rock climber this past year but after seeing the show the other night and them telling about all of the rock climbers and how dangerous it is for them I thought that I would show them again. Would you attempt rock climbing even on a small rock?

Also I want to take this time to thank Val from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for contacting us about our products going into the official Emmy Award Show gift bags this year!! If you get a chance check out  the all natural chemical free mosquito balm along with our other new all natural organic products at  http://econaturalsoap.com/

My husband used to be a rock climber; thankfully it was way before we met – I don’t think I could handle the thought of him doing that now! Your photos are beautiful – thanks for sharing :)

Given my intense fear of heights, rock climbing is something I could NEVER do. Insane!

Gorgeous pictures of Yosemite, would love to visit there some day but not for rock climbing… that looks real scary! Congratulations on the new Mineral makeup for the Emmy Award gift bags:) And thanks for your sweet note on my Easter tea.Have a wonderful day!~Poppy

Yosemite is beautiful. I have only been there once but my husband and I have been talking about going together and camping, hiking etc. I have actually done a little rock climbing but only in a gym. There was a documentary about a young guy rock climbing at Yosemite without ropes. I was nervous the whole time but he did it.

Beautiful shots. WOW, that is something, but no I’d never attempt that. Must have been pretty cool to watch though.

Never been and we have friends getting married there this summer. Unfortunately with a baby and the time zone change and the “rustic” accommodations we’ve decided to pass. Next time :-)

I always thought rock climbing would be fun, but the kind you do at the gym with a soft mat underneath you & lots of safety gear. :) And I am so excited for you that your products are going to be given away at the Emmy’s–wow, that is HUGE!

    Hi Alicia…thanks for stopping by.
I saw the same show you did and I’m afraid it made the palms of my hands sweat just watching him climb! NOTHING but his strong hands..he does not seem to have an ounce of fear and he is so young too!
Congratulations on getting your products into the gift bags. I already wear Bare Minerals but will check out what you mention.
    Have a great weekend!

  • Candy Asmussen

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I love your pictures of Yosemite. That is definitely on our “bucket list” of places we want to visit!

What great photos! and no, I would NOT be that person on an extremely sheer rockface that high above the ground!!! Gives me shivers just thinking about it…

Thank you for visiting me & leaving such a sweet comment.

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Alicia! Oh, what a beautiful place! I’d love to get to go there sometimes. No no Nannette! I would not rock climb for anything. Well, for one thing, I’m too old, too fat and too afraid! ;)
Thanks for popping in to see me.
    be a sweetie,
    shelia ;)

  • Fabiolalba

Hello Alicia! I’m so glad you came to visit, you certainly are very welcomed!! I lived in LA when I was single, in the early 70′s, (I’m from NY originally) so my room mate and me did a lot of trips like this…even to Disney Land, lol! This is umbeliebable, I so admire climbers from any where in the world, what a dangerous sport!. Some of the Kennedy’s younger used to mountain climb too. Goodness!! Yosemite is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing and so nice meeting you. Happy Earth Day weekend.

Oh I want to visit Yosemite very much! It’s so beautiful!

  • http://www.foodgal.com/ Carolyn Jung

Would you believe I’ve only been there in winter? The one advantage is there are fewer crowds then. And the park does look magical covered in snow. ;)

  • http://barefeetinthekitchen.com/ Mary

HOLY SMOKES! I would most definitely NOT want to be climbing there. What a cool picture to catch though.

  • Pamballard

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Beautiful pictures! Enjoy your Sunday!

  • breida @ breidawithab.com

Rock climbing is definitely NOT my thing – though I live in one of the most famous rock climbing communities in the world! It was great to see you over at breida with a b. again today. I really want to try some of your natural mosquito repellant products. Are they good for ticks as well? I also live in the Lyme Disease epicenter of the world.

    • http://ecofriendlyhomemaking.com Alicia

Thanks so much for stopping by.The mosquito repellant is great for ticks, flies, chiggers and even those pesky no-see-ums.

  • Kitchen Belleicious

my husband has always wanted to go here! I love climbing rock walls, etc so I think i would be up for it! Beautiful pictures! Just answered your email- i have not been getting them- they were going to my spam but now i have added you to safe list so it doesn’t happen again. I had the same problem about 3 weeks ago and then all of a sudden the problem went away- no idea what it is all about

  • LaVoice

I have not been there but understand it is a sight to see. I enjoyed it through your lens. So pleased to have you drop by for a visit today and your nice comment.

  • Lynn Wheeler

Yay! I got to visit you today. No more warnings from my anti-virus. I am so happy to be here Alicia. I like to walk but I have no interest whatever in climbing rocks. I don’t want to stick my fingers in holes that I can’t see in. :) Have you seen that commercial where the girl stands up on top of this little tiny rock way way up high. Just seeing that commercial gives me the heebie jeebies! I couldn’t do that. I would topple right off. I am so happy for you all with your products being in the awards bags. That is so totally awesome!!

  • Lynn Wheeler

Alicia, could you email me? My email or contact me button is on top of my blog. I want to ask about the mineral products. I love using your bug repellent!

  • http://reducefootprints.blogspot.com Small Footprints

Oh my … no, I’ve never seen the appeal in scaling the face of a huge rock. Although … I was once hiking in Yosemite and took a wrong turn. We ended up having to get across a huge rock … our only other choices were to fall off a cliff (no thanks) or hike hours back the way we came. So we crossed the rock wall. Mind you (and I would never ever suggest this to anyone so don’t anyone try it), we didn’t have climbing gear … just a backpack & hiking shoes and, obviously, not a lot of brains (oh what we done in our youth). I will say this it was exhilarating but I kept thinking that one slip would be fatal. If I’m ever in that situation again, I’ll go back! Great photos!!

  • http://www.makinen.fr/susa/wordpress/ Be Inspired!

Wow, mountain views always get me breathless!

  • http://thesummerporch.blogspot.com/ Rosemary…

Congratulations Alicia, That’s huge to have your products go into the Emmy’s Bags!!! I’d love to check it out. The park is beautiful but as for rock climbing, lets just say for me climbing up wouldn’t be too much of a problem, it would be the way back down. So if I attempted to climb and stopped, well lets just say you would know where to send my mail. :)
    Have a wonderful day,
    Hugs Rosemary…x

  • Thoroughly Modern Me

Great pictures. No, I would not rock climb-didn’t have to think very long about that answer. Fantastic news about the Emmy bags. Hopefully they will send you a picture for the blog.

  • http://aboutlastweekend.blogspot.com/ Jody Brettkelly

That is an incredible sport which i will never try!

  • http://loveallthingsbrightandbeautiful.blogspot.com/ Aubrey

Those pictures are so stunning! Yosemite is on my bucket list of must see places (c:

  • Bloomingrosemusings

Oh my goodness, I would never even think of attempting a climb like that. I’m not a fan of heights so I would never be able to look down or climb back down. Whew!
Congratulations on your products going into the emmy bags.

  • Kathybrenden

Hi Alicia! Thanks for stopping by at Sassafras Salvation! i love your pictures – they’re very beautiful. But as to whether I’m willing to perch precariously on a sheer rock face with my life suspended from a slender rope? Well, no. Just no. If you want a climbing partner, I’m afraid you’ll need to keep looking! LOL.
