Is Your Phone Really Smart?

I have  had the same cell phone for 7 years now. Believe it or not I only use mine to talk!! I don’t text I just talk! Alan had to upgrade his phone a few months back because of our business. He has one of those phones that can do almost anything and I am really impressed with it.So now for the same reason as Alan I think I am going to have to upgrade my phone as well. I really didn’t want to at first but now after checking his out really well I will have to say that I am looking forward to the new phone.

Our grandson is just a little over 2 1/2 years old and he is really a little “phone person” We gave him an old cell phone that was here and he loves playing with it.He even needs to take care of his “phone business” while he is doing his “pretend” mowing.

He not only pretends like he is talking but actually calls me quite often. If our son and daughter-in-law leave their phones where he can get them he pushes buttons in their phone books and then listens to see who he has called. When he hears my voice he starts telling me all kinds of things that has been going on with him! Our son even lets him play games on his i phone and it amazes me how fast his little fingers can go on that thing.

Do you have one of the new “smart phones” that can do so much or do you like a phone that will let you just talk?

Yes, you’d better upgrade, Grandma! As soon as that boy is able to spell he’ll be texting…and you need to be able to keep the lines of communication open. Yep, I got a smart phone 3 months ago. It is so great! We can be driving down the road wondering about what restaurant to go to, what the tide tables are at the beach, what the name of a certain singer is, etc; and voila, the answer’s right there on the phone!

Oh, I’m all about the smart phones. I would be lost without my iPhone! :P

I got an iPhone last summer {and my husband has had one since they first hit the market}. I love it. It serves so many purposes, one of them being great entertainment for the littles. :)

I held out for quite a while, but I LOVE my smart phone now. I use it as much as I use the computer for staying in touch with friends and family. Have fun with yours!

Kids nowadays are attracted to phones! Partly because they see everyone using it a lot and learns from that… I love my smart phone ;)

I got a smart phone only about two years ago. Comes in so handy. I wish it was an iPhone — but alas, I can’t type on that touch keypad. Tried to send a friend an email — and she laughed that it looked like a bad ransom note! LOL

That’s incredibly cute. I do have problems trying on mine…must have clumsy fingers!

HI Alicia! Oh, your little grandson is adorable and he sure knows what to do with that phone! I’m kinda like you and only would make calls on my phone until a few years ago and got the first Iphone model. I still didn’t do much with it. I have another kind now I like even better. I’ve learned so much – I can text, check my emails, my blog, pinterest. Just have a ball with it. Not to mention my daughter sends me pix of my little grand daughter and I save them. You’ll love a new phone, I just know it.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

    Those pictures are so adorable!!

I finally gave in and got an iPhone last October. I was about 2 years overdue for an upgrade and just did NOT want to spend the money. But then I found out about the Square app and realized it would allow me to accept credit card payments at craft shows without being stuck paying monthly fees during the months I don’t do any shows (it’s just a straight % of the sale price that you pay as a commission), and I was sold. It’s already paid for itself. :-)

Ahhh … your little “techy” grandson is just adorable. I love how he’s talking with the phone on his shoulder and both hands on the steering wheel! :-)

I don’t have a smart phone and even had my cell phone company remove features like texting and calling waiting, etc. Since I spend most of my day on my computer working, I really look forward to those times that I’m disconnected. In fact, if it wasn’t that it would freak my family out, I’d probably have my phone turned off .. permanently. LOL

I LOVE the photo of him on the mower talking on his phone! Hilarious! I still have a “dumb” phone (I only talk and text) because I don’t need it for anything else. My husband has internet on his phone just in case we need it in a pinch, but neither of us really have fancy phones. Someday later maybe. :)

I have a smartphone and I love it! I use it a little too much, maybe. :) Your grandson is adorable!

I have one of those phones that does everything but brush your teeth and most of the time it sits at the bottom of my handbag or in the pocket in the door of the car. I use it to text, phone or play solitaire when I am waiting at the doctor or dentist. I rarely use it to answer a call. LOL I never remember the darned thing. I use it only for my own benefit. That’s awful, I know.

I am researching smart phones now too. People say that once you have it you never look back. I am keen to start instagraming with mine when I get it.

Your grandson looks like a real cutie. Little boys are soooo adorable aren’t they

I resisted it for a long, long time but because of blogging, I went ahead and did it. I have never regretted it and I can’t imagine ever not having a smartphone now! You will LOVE it!

I have a smart phone and honestly, I’m not sure that i could ever go back. You will love it for sure!

I totally live for my iPhone – it’s sad, but I do everything on it! I even cancelled my super expensive internet because I can do what I “have” to do without it!

  • Jordan@the2seasons

Your grandson is super cute! I have an i phone and it is a blessing and a curse. It is great for work to check email etc. However it is hard to escape and people think you have your phone on you at all times. I was just on a small vacation and didn’t take my phone didn’t check email and was disconnected. It was nice for a couple days.

I’m definitely a dinosaur when it comes to mobile phones. As long as I can make a call in an emergency; that’s good enough for me! I bought a blackberry and it’s been a total waste of money as I only use it for emergency calls – I thought I’d been tweeting and checking mails on the go but I can’t figure out how to use it at all!

    Hi from Small Footprints’ Meet&Greet.
Your grandson is the cutest! I am nowhere near that cute, and my phone is the basic teen phone, one with a mini-keyboard. I only got that when my teen got one and I could see I needed to start texting.
For complete disclosure: I use my cellphone to call my Command&Control Center (my husband) e.g. when I get lost, or stuck in traffic, or need a hotel room because my camping trip was going to get flushed out in a downpour….

I just have a phone. It is a phone. No smart phone for me. I just can’t do it. I don’t need to be so “connected” all the time. I just like having a phone.

  • Carlygiroux

I love love love my iPhone! I just upgraded about 6 months ago and could never go back to my old phone. Your grandson is adorable!

  • Jennifer

haha. So adorable. Well, I have a smart phone and hate to admit I am addicted. It is hilarious when I go from my touch phone to my husbands Blackberry because no matter how much I tap the screen, nothing happens. I think you will find it easy to get used to and very helpful in your business :)
