Don’t Bug Me And Can You Give Me Some Suggestions?

We brought out our Don’t Bug Me line this past year and it was such a tremendous hit right off. We weren’t going to bring it out this year until the middle of April but started getting e-mails from people in Florida, Texas and Louisiana a couple of weeks ago wanting to know why it wasn’t on the website. Then our dealers started placing orders for it so we brought it  out sooner than planned. It seems as though most of us have experienced a milder than usual Winter and the mosquitoes, ticks and flies have emerged a lot earlier this year.

The reason this line has been such a hit is that it is amazing how well it works. The Army found out that Yarrow is ten times stronger than Deet and Iowa State University found out Catnip oil is ten times stronger than Deet. We put them both in this formula as well as Comfrey, Mullein, Neem, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Plantain, Spanish Marjoram and many more!! How awesome is this that you can have an all natural organic chemical   free insect repellent that is TEN times stronger than Deet ? We have had so many people tell us and our dealers that it is the best insect repellent they have ever used. That flies, ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers and even no-see-ums won’t come around them after using this product! If they already have a bite and it is really itching that say that after putting some of this product on the itching stops usually within a minute or two. If you get a chance check it out at Eco Natural Soap

I urge you to check the ingredients on any insect repellent you use or ones you will be purchasing this season. There have been studies done on our American Soldiers as well as lumber workers and employees of the Everglades National Parks who were exposed to Deet. It said that 75% showed various skin and mucus membrane aliments. Even the American Mosquito Association Control Association says that repellents should be used sparingly and that concentrations of more than 30%  Deet should be avoided.

Duke University did a study saying that heavy exposure to Deet could lead to memory loss, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, tremors, skin and eye irritations as well as shortness of breath. The Coalition Against Pesticide Misuse says that about 48% of Deet is absorbed through the skin within six hours! Another study said that our skin is like many mouths and whatever you put on it is like your skin eating it and it going right into your bloodstream! If you get a chance just Google the Dangers of Deet and read some of the reports.

There have been many studies showing that you should not use any product with Deet in it on children more than once a day if any. So please be wise what you put on you and your family this Summer.

Now to the suggestions. Alan has been in charge of Facebook but has been so extremely busy that he hasn’t been able to really keep it up. So as of this past week I am in charge of it!! First let me say I know nothing about this and am having to learn everything about how Facebook works.I would love any suggestions or tips you have concerning Facebook. I have also put a follow us on Facebook button here on my blog. I would love it if you wanted to follow us!

What a wonderful product! I have never used any bug repellant on Hudson, because I’ve just been too afraid of the chemicals. :( I need to get some of this!!!

That is so scary about Deet. I didn’t even know that, and I just bought some DEET filled protection. Ugh!

Great! I wonder if it works for deer ticks who carry lyme disease…

      Ann,
Yes it works on deer ticks also. The Yarrow, Catnip oil and the other herbs are amazing what they can repel!

I did a huge report on DEET and other insect repellants in College Bio and was surprised to learn so much about the hazards involved with use. :/

    Totally checking this out!

I agree with the non use of deet, I’ve read many studies regarding how harmful it is. As a gardener, I make my own homemade repellents. I’m just not taking any risks. Great Post.
    Rosemary…

This sounds perfect for my family. We stopped using deet products a few years ago, but haven’t found a great alternative. The mosquitos just LOVE me and my boys!
